Since alpha hydroxy acids thin the protective outer layer of skin, they are best followed by a moisturiser with SPF 15 or higher during the day. And be careful not to overload – once a day is enough for AHAs.

New Disposable Sunnies
Check out my latest pair of disposable sunglasses!
Now before you get the wrong idea, and think that I actually chuck ’em after use, see, the thing is, I love sunnies. There are just so many different types to choose from, and I always have so much fun in ’em. Obviously I cannot afford to get lots of designer sunglasses, so what I do is I buy disposable ones.
In other words, cheap sunglasses which are easily replaceable by new fashionable ones.
Whaddya know? An FOTD without any makeup on!
This way, I get to wear cute sunnies without breaking the bank. I recently lost a pair of sunglasses which I paid a lot for, and the thought of it just sickened me. It’s not Gucci or Chanel, but I still paid hundreds of ringgit for it, and when I lost it, it felt utterly horrible. With disposable sunnies, I don’t feel too bad if I misplaced them, broke them or something. Also, fashionable sunnies often, well, go out of fashion pretty soon, so I don’t believe in spending so much money on something which won’t last. For a more expensive, durable pair, I’d go for a classic, simple design, like the ones from Silhouette.
Cheap sunnies often do not come with UV protection (or really paltry ones), so don’t wear it often if yours doesn’t have any. You’ve been warned 😉
For now, I’m really digging my new cheapo sunnies which I bought from Cotton On yesterday for AUD12.95. I’ve never worn a pair so big before, so it’s going to take a bit of getting used to. Nicole Richie I’m definitely not, but man, this is great for disguising a face :p
What about you? Do you have a pair of really good sunnies, or do you have many pairs of disposable ones like me?
PS: And yes, this is what you’d call a shameless camwhoring filler post. Tsk tsk.
My Growing Nail Polish Collection
Geekchic, you are a bad influence on me.
Before you, these are about the only nail polishes that I have here. Pink and gloss. And these only goes on my toes. I don’t wear nail polish on my fingers if I can help it. Far too clumsy to keep ’em chip-free.
Left to right: Face of Australia in Aussie Kitten, Maybelline Forever Strong in Timeless Pink, Covergirl Continuous Color 3-in-1 Polish
For those of you who don’t know, that girl is a nail polish fan. She seldom does not have nail polish on. Thanks (or is it no thanks? :p) to her, look at my growing collection.
I really dig red nail polish. I find them super sexy, especially on the toes. Really glams up an outfit without even trying to.
Just so you know, OPI nail polishes are pretty overpriced in Australia. Each retails at AUD19.95 per bottle. As alternatives, I stick to Kit Cosmetics’ nail polishes which have really pretty colours. These are AUD15.95 each.
Left to right: Supernova, Star Turn, Changeling Ruby, Base coat/top coat and Changeling Ruby
Okay, if that’s still too expensive for you (it sometimes is for me too), check out the nail polishes from Rimmel. These are less than AUD7 per bottle. I love the colours Rimmel has. They’re so much fun, and dries pretty fast too.
Left to right: Shocker, Green with Envy, Zeitgeist
So there ya go. My nail polish collection. It’s still absymal, compared to Nikki‘s, but the way I see it, it’s definitely growing. The girls at Kit Cosmetics, Chapel St (Melbourne) are so nice; I always end up getting a bottle everytime I’m there. Tsk tsk tsk 😀
PS: Ooops, I forgot to mention, the first bottle on the left of the current collection is Real Red from Bloom.
