Review: Kit Cosmetics Changelings Nail Polish

I rarely wear nail polish on my fingernails. I’m incredibly clumsy, so manicures are totally wasted on me. When I was on vacation at Bangkok with Bea, we went for a mani-pedi. Ten minutes after leaving the salon, I chipped my nails. Tsk tsk. I love painting my toes though; at least if I chipped those, you can’t really see it. If I do wear nail polish on my fingers, which is rare, I’d wear nude colours. But when I saw and tested the latest nail polish at Kit Cosmetics, Changelings Nail Polish, I was totally blown over by how gorgeous the colours were.

Kit Changelings Nail Colour

Description:

These futuristic chrome nail polishes magically morph colour when painted with kit’s new Top Coat. The magic lies in the Changelings formula, which contains ultra loadings of pigment and a unique blend of additives. When painted with the specially formulated Top Coat, the Changelings transform- deepening in hue and attaining a wet look finish with vibrant depth.
Top tip: allow the Changeling shade to fully dry on the nail before applying the Top Coat.

The one I bought was the rose red, which morphs into ruby red after applying the top coat. On its own, the colour’s beautiful, but after applying the top coat, the colour totally popped. I’m not one to wear bright red on my fingernails, but I made an exception for this because the colour was absolutely gorgeous. Remember those magic pens where you use a pen to colour, and then when you run the white pen over the colours, it’d change into another colour? This nail polish is similar to that concept, but instead of changing the actual colour, it makes the original colour really shine.

I actually managed to apply the nail polish on BOTH hands without problems! That’s definitely a first. I’ve never been able to apply nail polish on my right hand well because my left hand would shake pretty badly. I was delighted that it worked this time 🙂

Unfortunately, the morphing of colours will only work if the top coat is applied on the Kit Cosmetics Changelings nail polish. It will not change the colours of other nail polish. It can still be used as a base coat and top coat though.

Ooooh … I’m so lemming for the Violet right now :p

The Kit Cosmetics Changelings Nail Colour is available at Kit Cosmetics boutiques and counters at Chapel St and Myer respectively for AUD15.95 each.

What I like about it: Love how beautiful the colours are on my nails. It has a quick-drying formula too.

What I did not like about it: The bright red polish tend to stain the nails, but then again, what red nail polish doesn’t?
