Hello 2008!

2008

Happy New Year, ladies!

Here’s to a fantabulous new year. My new year plans for this blog:

  • A new template (currently working on one from scratch, thus taking a longer time to kick off)
  • Giveaways (everyone loves a freebie, no? :p)
  • More beauty reviews (I resolve to be more consistent with my postings)

And many more! The ideas are all in my head right now, and I’m pretty excited about making them into a reality.

Stay tuned, and stay beautiful!

Review: Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion

I received a bottle of Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion a while ago, but due to my commitments, I hadn’t the time to do a proper review on the product. And really, even though I got the bottle of lotion for free, I have to do it justice with a proper review because it really IS good.

Skin MD Natural

Description:

Skin MD Natural™ utilises the finest effective natural skin care ingredients for dry skin treatment along with the latest advances in dry skin care technology to hydrate and protect the skin.

This is an entirely new concept in skin care requiring a new classification: “Shielding Lotion”. A shielding lotion keeps moisture-robbing irritants away from the skin while the proprietary “super” humectants hydrate the skin throughout the day.

An accumulated effect of Skin MD Natural is fully realised after only a few days of daily use. Depending on how dry your skin is the first few days may require reapplications after only a few hours. Usually, after a few days of continuous use, only one or two daily applications are necessary for complete dry skin care.

I originally used this body lotion on my dry and cracked heels. After a few days, the cracked bits healed, and my heels became nice and soft. Continued use of the lotion on my dry skin cleared the scaly bits in no time.

Some found the cream a thick tad, but I thought it was just nice. I sleep in an air-conditioned room, and I find the cream at just the right consistency to work on skin. To be honest, if I could get this in Malaysia, I’d very likely ditch my holy grail of lotions, as this worked a whole lot better.

Another reason I like this cream is that it is non-greasy, but not too light as to evaporate as soon as it touches the skin. The cream is easily absorbed to the skin, and it smells rather pleasant too. Works great on dry skin.

Since I only have ONE small bottle of this, I’m using the cream sparingly during my traveling stints *clutch bottle tightly to chest* :p

Freebie!
I have some samples of the Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion to give away. It won’t be as much as the bottle (sorry about that; I was only given one!), but it should give you a feel of what the lotion is like. Do drop me a comment, and I’ll send the samples to the best one 😉

What I like about it: Non-greasy, works well on the skin, keeping it soft and hydrated.

What I do not like about it: It’s not available in Malaysia. Boo!

2007 – Oh What A Year

2007 Oh What A Year

Gee, 2008 is just around the corner. How time flies when you’re having fun, eh?

I started this baby (blog) in May 2007, and sadly, I’ve been neglecting it due to my wedding preparations, work, and all that. I had big plans for this blog, and it started out great. It still is, albeit a little slower than I’d imagine. My bad for not following it closely. But there’ll be changes once everything is settled, I promise.

So, beauty-wise, what did I learn in 2007?

  • I went for a makeup course at Stella-In. It wasn’t cheap (RM380 for two classes), but it was so much fun as I went with a group of friends from work, and we had such a blast learning how to properly put on makeup. I would definitely encourage those of you who enjoy makeup to go for one, if not to learn more about skincare and makeup, then for a laugh, because it really is a whole lot of fun.
  • Ever since I started the beauty blog, I began buying more beauty products! I used to be massive bag junkie (well, still am, albeit toning down a little), but now I hoard beauty products like there is no tomorrow. Everytime I see something new, I’d go “hey, I want this. Can blog about it” :p I was unstoppable. And now, I have a lot of barely used stuff which I’ll be giving away to some of my girlfriends before I leave for Melbourne.
  • I became my friends’ unofficial beauty consultant. Free one at that (tsk tsk!). I don’t claim to know a lot, but I really hope I did help y’all out a bit by dishing out a bit of advice here and there. Remember ladies, WE are our asset 🙂
  • I became addicted to blusher (not as much as Paris, tee hee, but I’m so getting there). I love how it lights up my face on a dull and dreary day.
  • I discovered loads of cheap and chic makeup and skincare products like Elianto and Clinelle. See, this is what happens when thoughts of “blogging about it” can’t leave your mind.
  • I finally found my holy grail of body lotions. Whee!

So yeah, that was what 2007 was for me. My pockets became lighter from the massive products I amassed, but I sure found a lot of goodies along the way. Let’s hope that 2008 will bring us more new things to try out (ouch says my purse), especially when I’m in Melbourne. Can’t wait to try out the Australian brands. Oh, and I’ll also send some goodies back to some of you 😉

Cheers to 2007, and may 2008 bring you lovely ladies good finds and great bargains.

Stay beautiful!
