Maybelline’s Color Whispered Who Wore It Red-er? Why, Me!

Maybelline Color Whisper in Who Wore It Red-er

I first heard of the Maybelline Color Whispers on YouTube. It seems to be quite a hit amongst a lot of beauty bloggers and YouTubers. As usual, I was thinking “when the heck are these coming here??” Well, well. Fast forward a month or two later, it’s finally here! I had the opportunity to try out a few shades and today, I want to show you one of my favourite shades in the range and that’s the Who Wore It Red-er.

Maybelline Color Whisper in Who Wore It Red-er

It swatches a bright pink in the photoes but in real life and on my lips, it’s a beautiful, beautiful deep raspberry pink. It has cool blue tones in it, and the texture is silky smooth. It goes on like a lipbalm, feels like a lipbalm (the non-waxy kind), yet the colour packs quite a punch. Some of the other Color Whispers are pretty sheer but the Who Wore It Red-er is quite pigmented. The swatch you see here is 2 swipes of the lippie.

Bloggie Wednesdays: Why Running Too Many Giveaways Isn’t Effective For Your Blog

Bloggie Wednesdays: Why Running Too Many Giveaways Isn't Effective For Your Blog

Ahh giveaways. It’s one of the fun reasons to reading blogs, isn’t it? It’s like radio call-in competitions; you put in a comment and hopefully they’ll make you a winner. I used to enter a lot of competitions in magazines but I’ve never won any. When blog giveaways first came about, the chances of winning increased significantly because there weren’t a lot of readers entering giveaways. Now, it’s back to square one. Seriously, I almost never have any luck winning competitions! ๐Ÿ˜›

Running giveaways can be fun but it can also be a headache especially when you’re dealing with lots of regulations, absent winners, chasing for brand-sponsored prizes and so on. I’ve had my fair share of issues and they can be mighty hair-tearing. This begs the question: what’s my motivation for running giveaways? What’s yours?

To be honest, I enjoy running giveaways that I sponsor compared to if they’re sponsored by brands. It may cost me a lot more money but the control I have over the prizes, the fun of selecting the gifts and so on are worth it. It’s not that I don’t enjoy running giveaways with prizes provided by brands. Most if not all of them allow me to run the giveaways as I please and that’s a very good thing. Still, I find that being able to decide on the theme, choose the prizes, set the time frame, etc gives me a lot more control yet flexibility on the blog. Yes, I have an issue with control and letting go. ๐Ÿ˜›

Rudiments of Rouge: My Blush Collection

Rudiments of Rouge

Welcome to the 7th and final episode of the Rudiments of Rouge! I hope you’ve enjoyed this series and have found it helpful, especially if you’re new to blush. I haven’t had this much fun and ease writing beauty posts in quite some time now. I guess when you’re passionate about the subject, the words just flow out of the mouth (or in my case, out my fingers!). ๐Ÿ™‚

Since today’s the final installment, let’s make it light and fun. I’ve received requests to show my entire blush collection and I thought oh why not? Over the years I’ve managed to acquire quite a lot of blushes so if the amount below scares you, it’s not something I purchased in a short period of time. I have more blushes than I do lip products, base makeup and eyeshadows. It’s a passion of mine and from the looks of the stash below, it’s a growing one. ๐Ÿ˜›

Rudiments of Rouge: My Blush Collection

Here’s a bit of blush p0rn for you. Most are powder blushes, some creams and are from drugstore to high-end. After taking all these pictures, I realised I forgot to add some in, so, err, these will have to do for now. ๐Ÿ˜›

Rudiments of Rouge: My Top Picks for Drugstore, Mid-Range and High End Blushes

Rudiments of Rouge

Happy Monday, fellow beautyholics! Hope you’ve had a great weekend :).

Now that we’ve talked about how the rouge began, choosing the right shades for you, powder vs cream blushes, how to rouge your cheeks and fixing blush mistakes, I thought I’d share with you my top picks for drugstore and high-end blushes.

Drugstore would mean cheaper, more affordable blushes you can get from pharmacies like Priceline (or whichever it is in your country) and high-end would be leaning towards luxury brands. Some aren’t drugstore brands; as they cross the AU$25 mark, I consider them as mid-range. These are a mixture of cream and powder blushes. Most I will have reviewed before, some not. You’ll also notice that I like a lot of peachy pink shades. ๐Ÿ˜›

Without further ado, let’s get started!
