Review: Ginvera Marvel Gel with Green Tea and Complete Cleanser Set

by Tine on May 22, 2007

I read about Ginvera’s Marvel Gel with Green Tea at Pretty Beautiful a couple of weeks ago, and when I was at Watsons during the weekend, I couldn’t resist but try it out.

To be honest, I was never a fan of Ginvera products, given that I’m such an *ahem* brand whore, I thought it just wasn’t good enough (tsk tsk tsk eh? Yeah, I know). It’s been around the block for so many years now (the green tea infusion was only recently introduced); I reckon it has to be at least an okay product.

When I was in Japan, a Malay colleague introduced the gel to me, and actually gave me a facial with it! I have to say, I really was surprised at the results. My skin was really smooth and soft after the exfoliation, and it didn’t feel gunky nor tight.

I bought the Ginvera Marvel Gel with Green Tea and Complete Cleanser set at Watsons for RM36.90.

Ginvera Marvel Gel with Green Tea

According to the box, I have about 30 applications to the gel. Will update y’all on the progress of the gel on my face. So far, I’ve used it twice, to remove my day makeup and to exfoliate as well. And I’d have to say, so far, I’m pretty satisfied with the product.

What can I say? I’m a convert!

it’s me again =) hey do you know expired date for facial products? i mean some kind like life span. my mom bought me a Ginvera marvel gel (not green tea) when i was senior 1 or 2, and i put it there for over 3 years (i’m second year in uni now), do you think it still can be used? kind of waste if i throw it but i don’t know whether it still safe to use or not. i know i know i’m very bad for wasting such a good product =( but i was a ‘boyish’ girl which lazy to use and apply those facial products.. (ok la i’m lazy) you got me? sigh. but from now on i’ll try something out to be not so ‘boyish’ (which always teased by my brother that i’m not a true girl). do you think it’s a bit too late for doing this?

Oops, just realised I haven’t replied the comments to this post yet. My apologies, ladies.

Jo: Yeah, I do agree. I only limit it to a once-a-week use. That way, I see the improvements :)

Prettybeautiful: All thanks to your recommendation ;)

Janice: Hi hi!

I’m not too sure on the expiry dates on facial products, as in I can’t give you an exact number of months. For facial wash, they normally last at most 2 months for me. As for products like moisturiser, they tend to last up to 6 months from the time you open them, but they should last longer if you keep ‘em in the refridgerator (Mum does that; she keeps her stuff up to 2 years!!)

Hmm … wow, that’s quite a long time. I’d suggest you to bin it :) Yeah, I know it’s a waste, but your face is worth a LOT more than a bottle of cream or gel, so do get a new one (it’s not expensive anyway).

Haha, I know what you mean by being lazy; I’m just the same, if not worse. Still, when it comes to my face, I tend to push myself a little more, to be more disciplined about skincare. Uni time’s not too late to begin on skincare, so no, it’s definitely NOT too late at all.

Your face is your asset, so always “jaga” your asset, that’s what I always say :p

Good luck!

Hi, I’m wondering if the gel really can remove blackheads?
