Review: Pop Beauty Glow and Highlight Pressed Radiance Powder

by Tine on July 11, 2007

My beauty product review for today is on Pop Beauty’s Glow and Highlight Pressed Radiance Powder.
Pop Beauty Glow and Highlight Pressed Radiance Powder
Pop Beauty is a UK-based range of cosmetics. I’m not sure if they are available in Malaysia (please let me know if they are), but I thought I’d give you a heads up on this, just in case it does come to Malaysia, and you might like to try it out.

I bought this at a Kit store, when I was in Melbourne. I was quite attracted to their packaging – they use a lot of bright, playful colours (like Bloom and Benefit). Not exactly the sophisticated sort of packaging if you’re into that, but it was a nice change for me.

Description:

Add radiance and lightness with this magic glow powder and highlighter all-in-one cake. For an all over glow: swirl a brush around the cake and sweep onto cheekbones and temples. To open up your eyes: smooth the white or gold under eyebrows and in the inner and outer corner of the eye. To warm the complexion: use the gold and peach around the hairline, cheekbone and browbone.

When used as a highlighter, I find that the powder added a glow to my face. I don’t use a bronzer; this is probably the closest I’d get creating that healthy glow on my face. You can do an all-over sweep of your makeup brush on the powder, or select individual colours for your eyes. I like to use the glitter bit as a highlighter on my browbone. The matte colours are quite light; you’d have to apply more for the colour to show.

Pop Beauty’s Glow and Highlight Pressed Radiance Powder is similar to Bobbi Brown’s Bronze Shimmer Brick Compact.

This palette retails at AUD$38 or £14.

What I like about it: Nice shimmery highlighter powder for day and evening makeup

What I did not like about it: Not available in Malaysia (I’ll check on this, and update y’all if it is)

Gosh how purdy! Does it have that disco ball look that BB’s shimmerbrick gives? I don’t really like using the shimmerbrick because of that glittery effect. But those more subtle ones are nice. And no I don’t think pop beauty is available here.

Prettybeautiful: Doesn’t last that long, unfortunately. I tried it at work (used the least shimmery one), and it was gone by the time it was time to go home. But then again, I have oily lids, so maybe it quite wiped out then or something

Paris: Nope, it’s quite subtle actually. Which was the reason I bought it :p

Samantha: Thanks! Yep, consider yourself added too, hehe :p
