Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 825 Sky High

Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 825 Sky High

The Sky High is a gorgeous shade of blue. It’s a bright sky blue that I adore, and it perks up all my usual black clothes.

Sadly, the creme is streaky. The massive fat brush it comes with doesn’t help much in the application. Sure it’s quick to apply but the streakiness and drag sort of ruined it for me. I still love the colour though so a little is forgiven :P

Rimmel 60 Seconds in Sky High and Deborah Lippman Across The Universe

I found a better way to wear this shade in order to hide the streakiness, and that is to use is as a base for Deborah Lippman’s Across the Universe. Across The Universe is difficult to wear on its own; you have to pile on quite a lot of the nail polish in order for it to look opaque. With Rimmel’s Sky High as the base, all I needed was one coat of Across The Universe to achieve opacity. This way, it makes the Across The Universe heaps easier to remove! (foil method no longer necessary).

Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polishes retail at AU$7.95 for 8ml each and are available at Priceline, Kmart, Target, Big W, Coles supermarkets & selected pharmacies nationwide. Keep a lookout at Pricelines for discounts on Rimmel products. All of the Rimmel nail polishes I’ve purchased are under a fiver ;)

That colour is super pretty! But it sucks about the formula. ‘Instyle Coral’ from the same Rimmel range is one of my current favourite nail polishes :) x

Joy: Ooooh you had me at Coral. I’ll check it out pronto. I have quite a number of Rimmel nail polishes, all purchased under a fiver when I was feeling like I needed to get something from Priceline but didn’t want to spend that much :P

I like how you layer the glitter. But it’s going to be a bit difficult to remove. =P

I’ve never tried the 60 seconds formula before. But the Rimmel Lycra Pro range is a dream to apply!

Jyoan: It’s just one layer of glitter, which isn’t so bad. I had at least 4 layers of the Across The Universe on my nails just to achieve opacity, and boy, that was a b****h to remove :P

Hmm why does Lycra Pro sound so familiar? Gotta check my stash; I *think* I may have something from that range!

I prefer the Deporah Lippmans more!! The Sky High have a retro feels that might not work well for me.. but good thing that is still looks bright on the nails
