Should I Call 911 To Report on Benefit’s Fine One One?

Benefit Fine One One

When I first saw the first pictures of Benefit’s Fine One One, there was only one thing in my mind. MUST. HAVE. IT. I’m sure you know that feeling too, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Benefit Fine One One

I was lucky to be sent a tube of this to try out. It took some effort to practise restraint just so I can quickly photograph it before I rip the packaging apart and rub this on my cheeks. Again, if you’re a beauty blogger, you’ll know what I mean. ๐Ÿ˜›

With all that initial excitement, how did you think it fared for me? Was it worth the wait? Or was the excitement a tad premature?

Benefit Fine One One Description

When you unscrew the bottom of the tube, you’ll see that it’s a blush “stick” (much like foundation sticks) that has 3 colour stripes of light coral, peach and orange. The blush goes on sheer but it’s very buildable so if you’d like a brighter pop of colour, just rub more on. The combination of the three shades is a very pretty peachy flush on the cheeks.

As pretty as the colour combo is, it does have a pretty dry texture that I’m not quite used to. All of the cream blushes I’ve tried (Stila, Illamasqua, MAC, Australis, etc) have a dewy finish on the skin whereas the Fine One One goes on matte. It does dry quickly on the skin so you’ll have to be quick in blending it out.

Applying Benefit Fine One One

As I use the Fine One One directly on my skin over foundation or BB cream, the blush is already tainted with my base makeup, which is why I don’t use this on my lips. I tried it out on my lips once before rubbing this on my face. Didn’t like it much on my lips as it feels rather dry. My lips are naturally quite pink on its own so this doesn’t show on my lips no matter how much I ply it on.

The Fine One One comes in a small flat tube that is handy for mid-day touchups. This is useful because if you intend to wear this all day, you’ll need it in your purse. Sadly, the Fine One One doesn’t last long on the skin. I couldn’t make this last all day. By the end of the day, most if not all of the blush had disappeared.

Benefit Fine One One

As I mentioned above, when I first saw this, I was very excited to try it out. While I was waiting for it to arrive, I stumbled upon reviews about the Fine One One that weren’t good (Temptalia even gave it a F!). I was hoping to prove them wrong but once I tried it out, I just couldn’t. I don’t think it’s as bad as the reviews made it out to be but it’s not as good as I expected. It’s okay, just not a must-have.

Benefit Fine One One

Oh well, on to the next blush, I reckon. Hopefully the next one will be much better. ๐Ÿ™‚

Benefit Fine One One

Benefit Fine One One retails at AU$44 and is available at Benefit Cosmetics counters at MYER and Adore Beauty.

What I like about it: Very pretty combination of colours on the skin

What I do not like about it: Does not last long, dry texture

Have you tried Benefit’s Fine One One? Your thoughts? Yay or nay?

EEEE!!!! Love the final shot of yours. SO GLAM! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ Glad you reviewed it. I was going to plonk some cash on it. ๐Ÿ˜›

Aww thanks! But don’t plonk yet. Try mine first ๐Ÿ˜‰

I absolutely love the case it’s in. That seems like it would be worth it alone. The only concern would be the somewhat dry texture, though.

It’s a very cute case. Love the colour too. But yeah, just not keen on the dry texture. There are definitely areas for improvement on the Fine One One. Once they increase the longevity and make it less dry, I think Benefit would have hit the jackpot on the Fine One One.

Glad you reviewed it! I had it in my shopping cart, getting ready to buy it once I’ve read more about it!

    1. Tine

Haha yeah if you can try it out first in store, even better! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. If I write a review on this, I’d probably say the same about this product. I love the packaging but that’s pretty much it. I’m not fond of the texture and the result on my cheeks, and my foundation gets on the product.

That’s the reason why I don’t use this on my lips. The foundation gets on the product! Yeah, sadly it is quite dry on the skin. Definitely could be better given that the packaging was captivating.

This is a nay for me. Didn’t quite like the texture and I felt it was a little draggy on the skin. It is a very interesting concept and if folks at Benefit were to tweak this a little bit, it might be a winner ๐Ÿ˜€

I know, right? It’s a good concept and I’ll give Benefit points for that. It does feel draggy on the skin (glad to know I wasn’t the only one who thought so!). If the formula was better, I think this would be a fab blush.

looks pretty but boo-boo for it’s dry texture and and it’s poor staying power. this has never gotten into my wishlist, and certainly it will never be in my list now that you have reviewed it! ๐Ÿ˜›

apart from Benefit’s box of blushes/powders, benetints n other versions, some kind-a-gorgeous and lip plush, which they get quite some love from me, unfortunately their fakeup hydrating concealer emphasized the dry areas under my eyes and colours are aren’t exactly a good match for me either. did you try those before?

Nope, haven’t tried the Fakeup concealer, not yet anyway. I have a tiny, tiny sample of it from a magazine (kinda like those folded paper with sprayed on perfume kind of sample?) and I just chucked it ๐Ÿ˜›

Benefit’s blush boxes are my favourite out of all their makeup. Can’t go wrong with any of them. Just not keen on them shrinking the amount of makeup but still sold at the same prices >.<

      1. plue

it’s not only them I guess, look at MAC, forever jacking up their prices!

i dun mind them shrinking down the sizes AND prices, because, come on, how often do you finish your makeup items? Skincare is not counted yo! ๐Ÿ˜›

I really like the idea of this blush and the colours look like candy ๐Ÿ™‚ but it was so unbelievably dry on my already dry skin, it looked really bad, sadly. They have some nice colours in their line but I wish they would improve the quality/textures.

Hahaha spot on on the candy description! It’s such a pity the texture’s dry. If not, it’ll be a winner.

  8. Paris B

Oh good, I’m passing on this one then hurrah! I was quite quite keen to give it a go – looks so pretty y’know but I’m glad I waited. Next!!

Hahaha yep yep! It’s sadly just too dry on the skin. If they improved the formula, this would be a winner because the shade is very pretty. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Neesha

Oh no! But the packaging looks so pretty though! Benefit sure knows how to sell their products! Haha ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Tine

Hahaha one of Benefit’s selling points has always been their cute packaging ๐Ÿ˜‰
