Talking Scents: Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Arancia di Capri

Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Arancia di Capri

I’ve lusted after this fragrance by Acqua di Parma for ages. Every time I’m at David Jones, I’d spray some onto a card and keep the card in my bag. And by spray, I mean it was an enough-to-kill-a-hundred-mosquitoes-with-Raid sort of spray. Suffice it to say, my bag smelled amazing for days.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to finally bite the bullet and get it. Even though I’ve technically been spraying quite a lot of it on cards and myself over the years, there was absolutely no regrets.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Sage, Orange, Mandarin, Lemon
Middle Notes: Petitgrain, Cardamom
Base Notes: Caramel, Oakmoss, Vetiver, Musk

The Blue Mediterraneo Arancia di Capri smells like blood oranges. It’s musky enough to make this a unisex fragrance but not overly so that it makes me smell like Old Spice. You know me, I absolutely adore citrus scents and this one’s beautiful. I’ve never been to Capri but every time I spray myself with this, I imagine myself there. Y’know, what I can imagine from the pictures I see on Pinterest.

This is more of a cologne or a body splash than a perfume, which means that the longevity of the fragrance on the skin is quite poor. After a couple of hours, most of the scent would have dissipated. It’s a real pity that it doesn’t last longer.

Still, I love this fragrance and if you’re a fan of citrus scents too, I highly recommend that you check this out. It’s the sort of fragrance I love on a man but can wear on my own too. Mmm … 😉

Acqua di Parma Blue Mediterraneo Arancia di Capri retails at AU$130.00 for 150ml. It’s also available in the 75ml version at AU$85.00. I got mine at David Jones but you can also get it on Adore Beauty.

Have you tried any fragrances from Acqua di Parma? Which one’s your favourite?

The lovely Paris B surprised me with this for my birthday a couple of years ago and I’ve been using it every summer. Love it. Other than UN jardin sur Le nil which I’ve repurchased 4 or 5 times over theyears, this has earned a ccoveted spot in my summer perfume wardrobe

It’s such a lovely scent and right up my alley. So citrusy. Reminds me very much of the Hermes D’orange verte but much lighter. How many citrus scents do I need? I obviously don’t have enough. 😛

A personal fave too! I like how it has a zesty citrus top note, but it dries down with a slightly bitter note which I think tempers the sweetness and it then settles a little musky which I like. The longevity isn’t great, as you’ve said, but it’s fine with me. Sometimes, I get tired of smelling perfume at the end of the day, especially when it starts out too strong, so it can last 🙂 Good pick!

This smells so good! Can’t believe it took me so long to pick this up. I spray myself mosquito spray-like and I’m still not overloaded with perfume. I love it! 😀
