Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Neo Mascara

Looking at my archives, I realised that I hardly reviewed mascaras. Firstly I don’t often wear mascaras, and secondly, I’m really picky about the mascara I use. As long as it has a hint of dryness in the formula, or if the brush does not feel right on my lashes, it’s NG (No Good ) for me.

I’ve never tried mascaras by Majolica Majorca before. Even when I saw this in Japan, I don’t know why, but it never appealed to me. It was only when Ponikuta requested me to get the Lash Enamel Glamour Neo for her when I was in Malaysia, that she recommended I gave it a go. Since I already had two tubes for her in my shopping basket (plus it was on sale too), I didn’t hesitate dropping another tube in too.

Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Neo Comb

First of all, this isn’t your regular mascara. Instead of a brush, it comes with a comb with very short bristles. I’ve never used such a mascara before so I was initially a little confused on how to use it. But when I got the hang of combing the lashes from the roots to the tip … Oh. My. Gaaaawwwwd. It gave me the fullest, longest lashes I never knew it was possible to have!

Majolica Majorca Mascaras Comparison

From the Majolica Majorca brochure, it states that the Lash Enamel Glamour Neo gives the biggest volume of lashes compared to the other mascaras, Lash Gorgeous Wing and Lash Beautifying Mascara. I beg to differ because it did not only give me fantastic volume, it really lengthened my lashes as well.

A tiny snag about the comb – the short bristles gather quite a lot of the formula, so it tends to clump the lashes upon application. This did not bother me though, as I always use a steel lash comb to separate the lashes and remove any clumps when I use any mascara. This is something I highly recommend to those who are new to mascara or tend to get clumps on their lashes regardless of any kind of mascara they use.

Lash Steel Comb

I bought my steel lash comb from the 100yen shop in Japan, and it has lasted me for almost 4 years (and counting!). For my Malaysian readers, you can get this at Daiso for RM5. It’s really easy to use, and it removes any mess your mascara might leave on the tips of your lashes.

Okay, back to the Lash Enamel Glamour Neo.

I’ve read a lot of reviews about this mascara, and although the overall comments regarding this mascara were good, most of the ladies found it difficult to remove. I didn’t have any trouble removing mine. In fact, I found it a lot easier to remove than Blinc’s Kiss Me mascara (dang you, tubal worms!).

For stubborn, waterproof mascaras such as this, always use an oil-based eye makeup remover. Instead of swiping and rubbing the mascara off the lashes, always SOAK your lashes with the remover first. Pour the remover onto a piece of facial cotton (in the middle) and fold it in half. Gently press the lashes in between the folds, and hold it there for at least 30 seconds, then very slowly and gently, wipe it off. Do this several times (it took me about 2-3 times) until all of the mascara’s removed. DO NOT RUB!

Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Neo on One Eye

Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Neo on Both Eyes
Sigh to those awful fine lines under the eyes 🙁

To say I’m happy with this mascara is an understatement. I absolutely LOVE it, and am so glad Ponikuta suggested I try it out. The staying power is fantastic; I’ve had it on for over 4 hours, and the mascara still held very well.

I highly recommend this mascara for those of you who have fine, short eyelashes. It’ll give you that extra ooomph on your peepers 😉

Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Neo mascara is available at Watsons (Malaysia), and sells at RM45.90. Watch out for promotions when you can score ’em at 15% off. In Melbourne, you can get them at a beauty store along Swanston Street (can’t really remember the name; it has a pink banner and is along the same side of street as Boost). It’s sold at around AU$40.

What I like about it: Gives me fantastically long and full lashes

What I did not like about it: The comb takes a bit of getting used to; it’s BLOODY expensive here.

UPDATE:
A tip on using the steel lash comb with mascara: wait about 30 seconds for the mascara to dry out on your lashes first before using the comb to separate the lashes. If you comb the lashes right after you apply the mascara, you’ll be combing the formula out too. Since you’d want to maintain the volume of the mascara on your lashes, let it dry first, then only comb it out.

  2. plue

i love my MJ Lash Expander! I always had doubts about this volume one, as I heard it does clump your lashes. >_< Thank god Expander neo didn’t!

And we can get the steel comb in Daiso? I didn’t know! Time to go a hunting as I have been on the search quite a while! 😀

Thanks girl! Now I need to review the new Fasio and MJ Expander Frame Plus! 😀

  3. Kahani

EEEEEK! I waaaant! Your reviews somehow push all my buttons y’know?

  4. Shay

Hi, the lash bone is absolutely fab as well! It holds the curl all day. 🙂

  5. Nikki

Can I just say WOW? aside from the mascara being physically beautiful! it works, your lashes are definitely longer!!!!

  6. MisSmall

First of all, great pictures, hun. Love em!

I just got myself this mascara over the weekend, haven’t even tested it yet but now I have even higher hopes for it after reading your review. Haha.

But AU$40?! Are you kidding me? That’s such a rip off!

  7. Connie

yohhh….. why does this mascara work on everyone but me? 🙁 it hates me.

  8. fuzkittie

Yay I love Majolica mascaras! This one looks the exact same as the Lash Expander Neo…

  9. ponikuta

Oo, I’m glad you like them too. Your lashes look so long!! I’m kind of torn between this and the YSL’s mascaras.

One thing though, this mascara outlasted VIC’s hottest day in history. So I’ll give it to that for the long lasting formula.

YES, I have been waiting for your review on MM mascara!

I always find products from Japan are worth buying even from Korea but Im more of a Japan cosmetics supporter 🙂 the affordable ones that is 😀 When I saw MM the first time it arrived in Malaysia I was tempted to buy it but like you I had so many mascaras that I need to use up, finish it and buy a new one 🙂 and now I have every reason to buy this brand, i love the packaging as its cute & pretty and plus I love black 🙂 although i may need to get use to the comb applicator first .. ive used Loreal’s Double Mascara that mascara really opens up my eyes too .. you mentioned DAISO, where is that?

    Very good review!!

  11. prettybeautiful

oh my dear! i fell in love with your eyes already!!!! <3

thanks for featuring the lash comb, me gonna grab one if i go daiso again next time!

  12. Tine

    Jenn:
Thanks 🙂 Get someone to send it to you lor. I wouldn’t mind if someone sends MM stuff to me. It sure beats buying them here, with postage costs included. Sigh.

    Plue:
I’ll try the Lash Expander next. Believe it or not, I went to 3-4 Watsons outlets which sells MM makeup, and ALL of them had their Gorgeous Wing and Lash Expander sold out! Must be very popular products. Still, I’m very happy with the Glamour Neo so no complaints there 🙂

Yep, you can definitely get the steel lash comb at Daiso. I bought an extra one when I was there with the beauty bloggers. Just in case my current one breaks or anything. It’s good stuff, I tell you. Lasted me 4 years and counting.

    Kahani:
Now go forth and buy. HAHAHA!

    Shay:
Is that part of the MM mascaras too? Another one for me to check out then.

    Nikki:
Right? Right? When I saw my lashes, I saw WOW too!

    MisSmall:
Hehe, thanks. I took almost 50 photos just to get the ones you see on the blog right. It’s not easy taking stills without a proper tripod and steady hands. Do give it a go and let us know what you think.
Sigh, crazy right, the price here? Dollar to dollar man 🙁

    Connie:
Sorry it didn’t work out for you girl 🙁

    Fuzkittie:
Hmmm do you reckon it’s the same thing then?

    Ponikuta:
Thanks for the recommendation. I wouldn’t have thought to try them out if not for you 🙂

    Rojak & Tapai:
Yep, this review’s specially for you 🙂
I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to actually finish up a tube of mascara without getting another one to try :p

Daiso is a RM5 store in Kuala Lumpur (equivalent to the 100yen store in Japan). I’m not sure if there are other outlets elsewhere, but there’s one at The Curve.

    Prettybeautiful:
I’m sure you will go to Daiso again, if not for other stuff 😉

  13. plue

LOL! Lash Expander is OOS almost everywhere! I wanted to get backups as it’s already being DC 🙁

Gorgeous Wing I heard is blah. Not wasting my moolah on it. So yay! Am coming for Enamel Glamour Neo! And Daiso steel comb! 😀

  14. Tine

    Plue:
    Have fun! 🙂

    To the rest:
I’ve updated the post with a tip on how to use the steel lash comb.

  15. Rojak & Tapai

Tine: Awww thanks *grins* hehehehe i was so waiting for this review and you know what as soon as i finished reading your blog today I went straight to Watsons and got a tube, its on sales right now. I want to get the other one which is on sales for RM39.90 which is Majolica Majorca Lash Beautifying Mascara. I wonder if Daiso has other branches ..ill have to google it. I think I might want to try out their face powder but then again its so difficult to stop myself from using MAC Pressed Powder, ive been using it for such a long time now so if I start using other brands I would expect the same results ..hmmmm we shall see.

Thanks for the review on MM, i look forward to read more blogs and reviews. Im glad I subbed to your blog!

  16. rui

so it doesnt work that well anymore.
now i use it to apply vaseline on my lashes. 🙂

  18. BC

After reading this, I went out to get one :p
Mainly because I already gave away my mascara and I dun have one on hand
And am hoping that this one will work on me ( I am hopeless in applying mascara so far)
    Cost~ 25.90 sgd in watson… if I remember correctly…

  19. goldenmouse

I’ve been using majolica mascara for 2 years plus and still i think this is the best mascara. Even the new estee lauder vibrating mascara still lose to this one.

  20. Addie

I have this and its probably one of my fave and the best ever mascara! It looks natural and clump-free. It holds the curl really well. I JUST LOVE IT! Can’t say much about it. OH and I remove this using maybelline makeup remover for eyes and lips and its fairly easy to be removed.

  21. Lisa

oo0oo , are those the only places you can get it ? ):
i live in canada and i would dieee for a perfect mascara
or at least one like thaat, haha, i’d love to try it out !
oh & i’d also like to add something

” For my Malaysian readers, you can get this at Daiso for RM5 ”

There’s a store in Richmond, BC, Canada, called Daiso
it’s like a Korean? or Japanese store? everything there is only
2 dollars and there’s so many neat and useful things!
I’m pretty sure you could get one of those eyelash combs
at that Daiso too, I sure am going to try to find it!

  22. JOY

Hi 🙂 Is this mascara waterproof? If it’s not, does it come out easily? I’m looking for mascaras that aren’t waterproof as I’m not a daily user. Actually, I hardly use it at all so, I’m looking for a good one and I’m thinking of trying out this one. I’m just afraid its waterproof. Hope to hear from you soon 🙂 Thank you.
