Can’t Have Too Many Lists: May

Can't Have Too Many Lists: May

Currently reading: Through Thick and Thin by Gok Wan (I was reading it when I drafted this list, but have completed it now). It’s an honest autobiography written in pure Auntie Gok style. It’s not going to be a Pulitzer-winning piece but I thoroughly enjoyed the dynamics between Gok Wan and his family, as it very much reminded me of my own.

Currently watching: Bones. It’s number 1 on my TV shows list. I’ve watched it from Season 1, and have enjoyed every single episode to Season 7. I’m so addicted to the series that I even follow Hart Hanson, who’s the creator of the show, on Twitter just so I know when the latest episode is coming out and check out the behind-the-scenes shots. What can I say? I’m a big fan πŸ˜›

Perfumes I’m loving: This month, it’s back to the classics for me. I don’t know how to match perfumes to seasons, so I usually just wear what I like. It’s Chanel No 19 and Jo Malone’s Nectarine Blossom & Honey Cologne for the cold month of May.

Frequently worn outfit: Even more scarves these days as it’s so bleedin’ cold! Found a new way to tie my cotton/viscose scarves. I suspect the cashmere ones will make an appearance come June and July. My red coat from MNG also made frequent appearances this month.

Frequently worn jewellery: My favourite purple agate ring by Dara Ettinger. Tim calls it the sandpaper ring as it the surface reminds him of sandpaper. Hmph.

Makeup I’m currently loving: Dior Addict Extreme in #536 Lucky. Gorgeous lipstick that looks good in my purse. What’s not to like?

Currently eating: Lite n Easy meals. Something I tried out a few weeks ago for convenience. It doesn’t look as good as the advertisement, of course, but most items taste quite good.

Currently drinking: Piping hot cup of Milo. I’ve been drinking this almost every morning ever since I can remember. When I left home for the UK and Australia, I was so excited to try new chocolate drinks, e.g. Cadbury and Lindt but after a couple of drinks, naaaahhh. Can’t beat good ol’ Milo. They say that the Milo in Malaysia is better than the ones available overseas. To be honest, I think they’re the same. Beggars can’t be choosers, so I’ll take whatever Milo I can get.

Currently loathing: The bloody possums who are scampering across the ceiling and the roof at night. I don’t know if they’re going about it like rabbits up there, but some of us need to sleep!

Currently excited about: My god-furkid, Coco! She’s a darling labrador pup to proud mum LeGeeque, and she has the most beautiful heart-melting eyes and the softest fur.

Coco looks so angelic in that photo. Good thing I know the truth and she’s a complete insane nutjob because she has so much energy. I’ve taken to letting her run wild in the backyard to run off her energy. That way, when we bring her in, she doesn’t zip around chewing everything up. But, you’re right, she’s gorgeous and possibly the most gorgeous Labrador I’ve ever seen (cos she’s mine). And she’s also the best dog in the world (also cos she’s mine). Every strand of stinky fur is mine πŸ˜€

Solution for your possums: Turn on the lightbulb in your roof space. You should have had one installed when you got ducted heating done. Leave that turned on for 24/7 for a week or 2. Alternatively, get one of those emergency lights from Bunnings and leave it up there. Those pests hate light and will find another space to haunt. (Also, get a dog. Ever since Coco came, no possums, win!)

LeGeeque: I’m going to try that trick of yours with the possums. Seriously, it’s like my house is a magnet for rodents. But it’s clean! (or at least, as clean as I try it to be). Ugh. Still, I suppose I should count my blessings that there are no flying cockroaches here. *shudder*

Hahaha that picture was taken on her first day. It’s also my phone wallpaper! Savour the angel-face πŸ˜›

Oooh! I’ve “cracked out” my red duffle coat too! Gotta love red! How does Chanel No.19 smell like? I was given the No.9, didn’t quite like the scent, very….”auntie” so was wondering if No.19 has a much sweeter scent?

    1. Tine

Norlin: It’s not as heavy as the No 5. I don’t have the No 9 so I can’t compare. As with all original Chanel fragrances, especially the perfumes, they’re all pretty heavy and like you said, “auntie” smelling, but I didn’t feel that way with the No 19. It’s a beautiful scent to wear during winter. Not too much, just a touch on each wrist and dΓ©colletage for me. Perfect πŸ™‚

Funny, all my friends swear the Australia Milo is way better than the Malaysia version. The Oz version is maltier tho.

Celeste: Hahaha I’ve had friends telling me the other way round! Honestly, I don’t really care. Milo is Milo. Delicious everywhere πŸ˜›

ah I heard so much about coco from Dom and Beetrice. she’s so cute!

and I think milo back home tastes so much better than aussie milo, what can I say, I’m a snob!

    1. Tine

Shamim: Oh she is! She’s growing up so fast too. I remember seeing her the first week, with a round face. Third week and her face has slimmed down to the proper Lab face. It won’t be long till her body is like an adult dog. So beautiful πŸ™‚

Hahahah see I couldn’t tell the difference between the Milos. I’m just thankful I can get them here πŸ˜›

I miss Coco!!! Thank goodness I have updates from you and LeGeeque on her antics (and at least got one afternoon with her before I left!), but it’s not quite the same as being able to play with her… πŸ™

And Bones!! I haven’t started on Season 7 yet, can’t wait for it to be downloaded!

Oooh I love Bones Season 7! I really like how the story progressed. Although I don’t think Booth and Brennan would have hooked up yet if not for Emily Deschanel’s pregnancy πŸ˜›

  6. Beauty Box

Nectarine Blossom & Honey sounds absolutely divine and it prob is because I love anything Jo Malone.

Do you know that Milo was developed by Nestle in Australia? I never knew that until my bro-in-law who is in the FMCG industry told me that. I always thought it came from somewhere in SEA! If anything, you are drinking Milo made in the land of Milo…so…it’s the best?? :p

    1. Tine

Beauty Box: Jo Malone does such lovely fragrances. Definitely makes me wanna try more.
Haha really? I thought it was developed in SEA too! But really, I couldn’t tell the difference. Milo tastes the same to me everywhere, just as good! πŸ™‚
