April Hit and Miss List

April Hit and Miss List

Have we come to the end of the month already? Gee, where did the time go?

There are plenty of hits this month. You won’t see most of them here because I’ve already reviewed them. These are some of the products that I haven’t reviewed but would still like to give a brief mention.

There aren’t many misses this month so I thought I’d throw in a movie that I didn’t particularly enjoy just to balance the list out. Just don’t hate me when you find out what it is, okay? 😛

April Hit and Miss List

The Hit List

Original Source shower gels and handwash
I can’t believe it took me this long to try Original Source out. The shower gels and handwashes are bloody amazing! They smell really good, especially the lime and mint ones. They’re great pick-me-ups in the morning. If you haven’t tried them out, go go go!

Silicone face brush
When I was cleaning my bathroom cabinet last month, I discovered the wee silicone face scrub that came with an old L’Oreal facial cleanser. The cleanser was only so-so but I must have kept the silicone face brush that came with it because I found it pretty good. I forgot I even had it! I used it in lieu of a scrub and fell back in love with it. So easy to use and it’s gentle on the skin too. You can get a similar silicone brush at Daiso.

Avalon Organics Vitamin C Renewal Refreshing Cleansing Gel
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of citrus scents, particularly oranges. I got this from iHerb on a whim and oh boy, what a delicious-smelling cleansing gel it was. It’s like washing your face with orange juice, except in gel form. It’s not drying on the skin and cleanses it well. Well worth a repurchase or two.

The Body Shop Jumbo Satsuma Shower Gel*
Oh yeah surprise surprise. It’s another citrus-scented product. I absolutely adore the Satsuma range from The Body Shop. Now that they have the jumbo version, the price per ml is a lot lower compared to when you buy the regular 250ml bottles (AU$19.95 for 750ml). The bathroom smells so good after each shower. By the time you read this post, I have about a few more uses left before a repurchase is a must.

The Miss List

Go-To Exceptionoil
Sadly, this body oil didn’t work for me at all. Okay, to be fair, the oil itself is good. It’s a dry oil so it absorbs onto the skin very quickly without leaving any greasiness behind. The problem is, I really really don’t like the smell. A lot of people actually love the scent and love the product even more because of it but not me. It smells strongly of jasmine which I’m not a fan of. Plus it the oil hardens in the tube when it’s cold making it hard to squeeze out.

NP Set Eye Slicks*
I reviewed this last week and it’s a pity that it’s a miss. If the application on the eyelids reflected the swatches exactly, then we’d have a winner. Unfortunately, you can barely see any product on the eyelids once it’s blended. Boo.

Frozen
Oh dear, I hope my blog doesn’t get the Internet equivalence of being thrown rotten tomatoes for disliking what is apparently a very popular and loved cartoon. I loved Tangled and was hoping to enjoy this one too given that it was created by the same people. Sadly, it was uninspiring. The music was bland and so were the characters. But I’ll give it to them, the songs “Let It Go” and “Do You Wanna Build A Snowman” are freakin’ earworms and not the good kind too. If you love this show, please don’t hate me. 😛

How awesome would the cartoon be if it ended like this.

What’s in your Hit and Miss list for April? I’m particularly interested in hearing what didn’t work for you so that I may also steer clear of it. 😛

I love Original Source! I used to haul them back from the UK by the boxes. Yes, I’d pack them into boxes sourced from Tesco or Sainsbury’s and check them into cargo LOL! I remember liking the Mint and Tea Tree shower gel but not the Lavender. Ah memories 😀 BTW did that body OIL come in a TUBE?! Must be a holy mess 😛

Hahaha I saw heaps of Original Source from Superdrug and Tesco but I’ve never tried it out then! Ish I missed out on those, especially when they were only 99p! Yeah the body oil comes in a tube. It’s hardened oil, so there’s no mess. It’s like squeezing out toothpaste. 😛

I haven’t seen Frozen yet (Am I the only one out there?) but I have heard lots about it! And heard Let It Go at home about a zillion times!
On my Hit list: Jojoba oil from the Jojoba Oil Company (that you gave me!). It is the best cleanser ever! And the quickest which is an added bonus. Also Organic Care shampoos from Nature’s Organics.
On my Miss list: the cold weather is here too early 😉

The Jojoba Company has really good things, definitely worth checking out their other products. Aww I love the cold weather! I just don’t like the WET weather. 😛

I really don’t like Frozen either! Such a huge let down!
My hit for April was Essence Long Lasting Lipstick! I’ve attached my review for you to look at 🙂

So glad you didn’t enjoy Frozen! One less tomato to throw at me. 😛
OMG that lipstick. That colour. I’M SO GETTING IT.

I am not big Frozen fan, either! It was such a disappointment! “Let it Go!” is catchy — and half the girls sang it at our recital… I kind of like it now.

Glad to see you had so many hits in April and only a few misses! Let’s hope May is just a sucessful!

The show’s lacking that magical feeling, that pizzaz. Could have been a lot better. I hear “Let It Go” a lot on YouTube (sung by YouTubers, background music, etc). It’s such an earworm!

I love the Satsuma range from Body Shop too 🙂 I have the body lotion which I need to start using soon. I do not think you can get the jumbo size in Malaysia though but it is definitely value for money.

I hope you guys get the jumbo size shower gels because price-wise, it’s value for money. I adore the satsuma range. Smells so good! 😀
