It’s difficult to find a good red sometimes. The perfect finish, the perfect taste, the perfect colour.
Of course I’m talking about a lipstick. 😉
I may not have found the perfect red, but I sure found a good one. One in beautiful packaging, with a beautiful finish and colour. Okay, maybe the taste could be better but for a gorgeous red, what’s a little snag in the bigger scheme of things? 😛
This is Dior’s Diorific Collection Golden Winter’s Long-Wearing True Colour Lipstick in 038 Diva. It’s a deep, warm-toned red with a semi-matte finish on the lips. It has a waxy scent that I’m not a fan of but it’s not offensive. The colour alone is already a knockout so I’ll forgive the scent and taste anytime.
It’s the sort of warm vibrant colour you’ll wear in autumn but since we’re Down Under, oh who cares?
A good red’s a good red. Anytime. 😉

My go-to Red would be Russian Red by MAC, or their current Viva Glam shade if I’m feeling like a darker, vampier red rather than a true full on red red. And if I want the Russian Red glossy? (its a Matte shade), just top up with the MAC Russian Red Lip Glass :). Its been a long search for me for the perfect 50’s red, but this one works well for me I think (blue white pale skin, almost white blonde hair, although its working well with a shade warmer skin now I live here and there’s actually sun on my face (even with SPF!) and dark reddish brown hair.)

I’ve heard a great deal about MAC’s Russian Red or Ruby Woo and that those are really gorgeous red shades they do. I really should check out the Russian Red!

Well, I think Diva is a very good version of red and the packaging is divine. I mean, I’d love to whip that beauty out of my hand bag and apply 🙂
I’ve been wearing Revlon lip butter in red velvet off and on .. it’s subtle and I like it.

Ohh this is a perfect red. I ❤ the packaging too (I’m a sucker for glam packaging). At the moment my perfect red is Chanel’s Rouge Coco in Gabrielle. Apparently it was Chanel’s favourite red shade.
