Paula's Choice Giveaway August 2015

Happy Friday, my beautiful chickadees!

I’ve been really impressed with a couple of Paula’s Choice’s items I’ve been trying lately that I know I just have to share them with you. I’ve reviewed them before: they’re the Paula’s Choice Resist Hyaluronic Acid Booster and the Blush It On blush and contour palette. I am from the United States. My latest purchase was Urban Decay’s new Smoky palette. This is a really fun palette and different enough from the other palettes to make it worth the purchase. I find I reach for the original Naked palette the most, but I am definitely glad I picked this one up as well. Thanks for this giveaway!

  2. Guia

From Melbourne, Australia. Latest beauty product I have tried is Suvana Organic Pawpaw and Honey Balm. Was not expecting much as I don’t like pawpaw cream but I reckon I gotta finish this free tube from Priceline. But it’s a wonderful balm! It smells and tastes nice and feels like a sugar lip scrub. Love it!

  3. Cailtin

I’m from Perth, Western Australia. The last product I tried was genifique from Lancome. I loved it, great for dehydrated skin!

  4. Mel

Hi! I’m from Australia. I tried the YSL tint in oil lip product and am loving it! I have No. 8 and I like wearing it to events where I know I’ll be drinking since it leaves hardly any residue on glasses 🙂

I’m from Australia. I’ve been trying the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum and I’m a bit meh about it so far. I don’t need anti-aging products yet so I haven’t noticed a difference in that regard, so I don’t think it’s any better than other cheaper serums I’ve tried for hydrating my skin.

  6. Claire

Hi Tine, I am from Perth Australia
My latest beauty find was Antipodes Apostle Brightening skin serum and I love it!! A definite repurchase, smells so good and my skin looks so much brighter and feels so soft.

  7. Yean

I’m from Australia. I very recently tried a Face Shop sheet mask that may have given me a terrible breakout. I’m not 100% sure if it was the cause, but I’m too scared to try it again!

  8. Su Ann

Hi I’m from Malaysia! Tried a Dior Addict lipstick (called Lucky) and i love it! Great texture and color.

  9. Aenea

I’m from Australia. The latest beauty product I tried was a lip gel from Marc Jacobs and I love it. It’s like a tinted lip balm.

  10. Stacey

I’m from the United States. I just recently picked up the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix pads (the regular strength ones). So far I like them although I’ve only used a few. Will really know for sure once I’ve used them for a couple of weeks.

  11. Kate

I’m from singapore and I’m trying out Etude House auto-eyebrow pencil! The lead is triangular cross-sectioned and flat from the side, so it makes a breeze to fill in brows. And the spoolie on the other end is sturdy yet bristles are soft enough not to cause any scratches on the skin. One great point is about the price, it’s cheap cheap cheap, costing only SGD$5.90. I’m definitely grabbing more of those when I go Korea end of this year!

  12. Maria

I am from the United States. My latest purchase was the pure skin wash from Balance me when I was in the UK. I really loved it – so much that I will stock up on their brand when I go next!

  13. Tracy

I’m from the United States and I recently picked up one of the new Milani Matte Lipsticks. I was not a fan as it accentuated my lips lines. Still on the hunt for a good matte lippie.

I’m from Australia and got a couple of the Maybelline Lip Elixirs at the Priceline sale – 50% off is amazing! I got ‘Rose Redefined’ and ‘Caramel Infused’ and they’re so pretty, very glad I picked them up.

  19. Bianca Rogoveanu

Hi ! I am from Europe, Romania.
The last product I bought was the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, it was very expensive but it’s the best concealer i’ve ever tried ! It covers everything !

  20. may

Hi, I’m from Malaysia. The most recent beauty product I’ve tried is sebamed urea cream. I have very dry skin and it hydrates pretty well!

  21. Sandie

Hello from Canada! The beauty product I am trying out right now is the new Urban Decay Blush! It claims 8 hour wear but I don’t see that, I like Tarte for their staying power!

  22. Loris Ayoub

Hello, I am from Venezuela but live in Israel, the last beauty product I tried or bought is Rejuvenating eye cream by Green people.
    Is a nice eye cream.

  23. Victoria

I’m from Australia, and I just bought the Makeup For Ever HD powder. I’m still on the fence about whether it’s worth the price tag compared to other powders.

  24. Elsie

Hi! From Australia! Every winter, my facial skin goes from soft and smooth to red, irritated, dry, rough and flaky. Especially the cheeks! The latest product I’ve tried is Jurlique’s Nutri-Define Essential Conditioning Lotion. It is THE one product that has restored my skin’s softness and smoothness. I love it!! I’ve tried so many things, but this has worked so well for me. First winter in ages that I’ve had good skin.

  25. Lisa Brown

I am from the USA. I tried Albolene, a skin cleanser for help removing stubborn face primer and makeup. It is a tissue-off cleanser, looks and feels like vasaline. I was hesitant because of what it looked like, but it did take off all makeup. Inexpensive and will buy it again.

  26. Karen Mericle

I’m from the US. I tried the Tarte sunscreen and I L O V E it! It has no sunscreen smell and goes on smooth underneath my makeup. Yay!

  27. Galina

Hi, I’m from Estonia. I’ve tried a Shiseido Sheer and perfect foundation. And it’s so-so. =/ The lightest color is still too dark for me, but the texture is quite good, soft and undetectable, except for color.

  28. Elisha

Hi there, I’m from the sunny Gold Coast Australia! I recently bought the maybelline fit me matte +poreless and quite like it! Actually the very next day after purchase you did a review on it. It’s great for my oily skin and also the Gold Coast weather. I tried it without any powder over the top (as I would normally have to wear over my foundation) and I didn’t get super shiny and it did last the duration of my day. It was 30% off at target too so the price was super appealing. I am also an advocate user of Paula’s choice skin care range but haven’t tried any makeup from her line as yet. The resist ultra light super antioxidant serum and then the resist daily mattifying fluid with SPF15 works great as a base for my foundation too.

  29. Liz

Australia. I just tried the Kate Sylvester nourish daily moisturiser. It’s lovely, light and has no scent (which I like), but the best thing about it is the jar…it has a dispenser thingy so you just squeeze out the required amount, and don’t have to dig fingers into the cream each day.

  30. Anna

Hi, I am Anna from the US and I tried Korres Greek yogurt creme and I love it. Thanks for the chance to try Paula’s choice. Good luck ladies.

  31. Cecilia L. Wong

Hi! I’m Filipino but permanent resident in Malaysia. I just started using the Antipodes Hallelujah cleanser. Love, love, love it! I’m getting so sucked into the the Antipodes skincare range. Have a great weekend!

  32. Ria Compra-Wennas

I’m from Sydney Australia. I recently bought 2 of the Burberry effortless kohl eyeliner in chestnut brown for 2 of my girlfriends birthday gift. I liked how it swatched in store and how creamy and long lasting it was. I ended up returning to David Jones the next day to get one for myself!

  33. Yin

Hey.. am from Australia and recently picked up the Sunday Reily Luna – feels nice but not sure if i am seeing results yet as its only been a week… i have high hopes for this! Hope i get lucky and finally win something – good luck to all 🙂

Lastest Beauty Product: Actually, a Paula’s Choice one! I finally bit down and bought the most expensive treatment I’ve ever had. I figured it’s been a tough year and well, if it doesn’t work, I can just return it… So I ended up buying a great antioxidant serum, but what I really loved was the sample of PC Instant Calm Redness Relief. I used it twice a day for almost a week before the sample ran out and… it actually started to fix my face. I’m convinced that I lose out on job interviews because parts of my face have a ‘butterfly rash’, horrible burnt, tight-looking redness that isn’t a sunburn with a rash that never changes or goes away. It’s been there for ten years. It isn’t acne. Maybe rosacea? But I don’t have health insurance… so I’m stuck. And it’s so ugly. The rash didn’t fade with the PC Instant Calm, but the redness mostly disappeared, so I was able to cover the rest with light foundation for interviews! It’s the first ‘anti-redness’ treatment to ever work on me. I’m sold! Now I just need the cash to buy more. >D

Hi! I am from Singapore. I recently tried Full of Promise from philosophy. I use it mostly as a night cream because when I use it in the day I feel that it makes my oily skin even oilier.

  36. Evelyn

From Singapore. Tried Mad Hippie Vit A serum lately, but disappointed it doesn’t work for me (read so many raving reviews, even from people who DIDN’T like other Mad Hippie products). Am hoping it’s “other factors” e.g. stress, poor sleep, time of the month, etc. that made my skin break out when I used this, so trying to persevere with 3/4 bottle left!
    Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

  37. Raine

Hi, I’m from the United States. My most recent purchase was a lip/cheek stain pen by Stila in Coconut Crush. It’s ok, the color us very metallic looking and slightly drying. I can’t say I hate it but I won’t be buying this stain again. So ‘meh’.

  38. Eunice

    1) I’m in Australia
    2) latest beauty buy is hmm, it’s been a while since I tried something different.. Maybe I’ll say it’s the innisfree green tea serum and I love it! Hydrating and smells good

  45. Lisa

Hello from Canada! I recently picked up the Cerave daily moisturizer with SPF 30. I am really liking it so far as it doesn’t make me too oily through the day under my makeup. Some other facial SPF’s I have tried from the drugstore sting around my eyes and nose but this one doesn’t and it doesn’t seem to be causing any breakouts on my chest like a lot of sunscreens have in the past. I think I will try their cleanser next as I notice it gets some good reviews from beauty bloggers I follow.

  46. Magda

Hi. I’m from Warsaw, Poland. I’ve just started using Korres magnolia bark cream and it’s pretty fine. But as it’s been just a couple of days, so I need more time to see the results.

I recently purchased Dior Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum. I love how it doesn’t leave a lot of white residue on my lashes like other lash primers. Not really sure that it gives my lashes more volume, but I am very happy with the product and will definitely purchase again.

My new fave skincare purchase is Arcona Triad Pads. They are cranberry toner pads that contain cranberry extracts, vitamins and fatty acids. They are very hydrating and I also like how they get that last bit of makeup that didn’t completely come off with my cleanser. They would also be great for travel and to use after the gym.

    Have a wonderful day, everyone!!

The most recent item I tried out is from Algenist skincare. It’s their Retinol Firming & Lifting Serum. I’m sort of “meh” about it. I didn’t see any dramatic change in my skin. My skin is in pretty decent condition to begin with – I primarily use all of Paula’s Choice products. I think I prefer her Clinical 1% Retinol Serum to the Algenist product. I think Paula’s products are fantastic!

I’m from Malaysia. The recent beauty product I bought was Catrice Rock-O-Co Matt Lip Colour. Love the shade and texture when tested at the pharmacy and it’s incredibly cheap for a lipstick. It’s so drying and flaking. Lesson learnt, never buy a cheap lippie.

Anyway, I’ve had them on my nails a week now and they still look fabulous. I can’t find them anywhere, and they’ve received bad reviews all over the net. I’m assuming they’ve been discontinued. Anyway, I guess I’m just lucky? Or maybe a bit more experienced in nail decal technique? Either way, people have given me compliments and have said my nails look fantastic. I guess its time to go stock up on eBay, lol.

I’ll probably use up the whole bottle but I don’t think I will repurchase this! (Especially not at $100 per 75ml!)

Hello from Sydney ! The latest product i tired was La Roche PosayUvidea XL BB cream. I was happy with the product when I started using it as it gave me relatively good coverage-esp so when the season change from autumn to summer where it gave me smooth coverage. However, the BB cream just rubs off very easily and that frustrates me a little. Did I replenish? Nope, as I found another Korean cc cream which sits much better on my face…..so I guess it’s a neh for me on this!

I am really looking forward in trying yours and believe me it will be kept under lock and key.

I’m from the US and this morning I wore a new lippie – NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Buenos Aires. I usually like a more shiny lip, but this is such a pretty color – soft peachy, orangey coral. It goes on smooth and dries to a matte finish. Doesn’t feel too drying on my lips. I like it!

I’m in the USA and I tried the orange lipstick trend and I don’t think it’s for me.

I am from Canada. The latest beauty product I have tried is the Paula’s Choice The Matte Nudes palette and I love it! Has such nice pigmentation and it is easy to blend.

I’m from Melbourne, Australia. I’ve tried heaps of new beauty products lately. I tried the new Maybelline lash sensational mascara and the Hypersharp winged eyeliner together. Found the mascara a bit clumpy, not a big fan. However the eyeliner has achieved holy-grail status for me 🙂

La Girl Pro HD Concealer in Natural. When I first started using this I was wondering what all the hype was. I do not like the applicator, but I apply to my finger and then use to hide my dark under eye circles and its fantastic! A small amount of product goes a long way.

Hi Tine, I’m from NZ. Recent purchase was the Versace Vanitas body lotion. It smells so good on my body so much so I’d repurchase and use it for a long time. It’s my current favourite.

I’m in the USA, and I just tried an aerosol spray cocoa moisturizing body mist. It’s white and runny, but it cools me off temporarily and smells nice.

I’m from Brunei Darussalam. I recently bought Tea Tree Oil from The Body Shop as a spot treatment for my morning skincare routine since using Benzoyl Peroxide twice a day has been drying out my skin. I actually tried the product ages ago and it didn’t do much but it was on promo with a free cream cleanser so I thought why the hell not? I like it more this time around so no regrets there!

Hi Tine, I live in Merimbula, Australia. My latest purchase was Clarins Extra Firming Night Rejuvenate anti-wrinkle cream. After slathering it on my face for 2 weeks (ocasionally on top of my trusty $10 tub of Nivea Creme) I believe that my guffaw-lines are now crevice than canyon. However no impressive enough to be carded at the liquor store.
